Wobbuffet's link is interesting... there's actually a lot more complexity involved in capitalizing a string than I would have once assumed. Sure, doing printable ASCII is trivial with tr '[a-z]' '[A-Z]', but Unicode... hell, it makes a web service almost seem like a good idea.
