From this I learned that Chuck Tingle's favourite band is Meshuggah and he really likes Fuller's Hannibal. The man has, as his output already demonstrates, impeccable taste.
Also, this line from his last post hit me:

I appreciate Dr. Tingle so much.
He recently put out a tweet about turning a book into an NFT and got, immediately, a bunch of replies politely asking him not to given the concerns over NFTs and the environment (among other things). Within minutes he had taken the original tweet down, apologised, and started work to undo the process of registering the NFT. He went away and did some research of his own, then came back and produced NOT POUNDED BY MY BOOK 'POUNDED IN THE BUTT BY MY NON-FUNGIBLE TINGLER THAT IS LITERALLY THIS NFT' BECAUSE OF THE CURRENT CATASTROPHIC ENVIRONMENTAL AND ETHICAL IMPACT.

Iirc, his son Jon has said that Chuck Tingle is an autistic savant with schizophrenia.
If this is the truth, the guy drew a lousy hand and has somehow turned it into something that brings joy and laughter and meaning to people who were - perhaps - also dealt a shit hand. I think that's something beautiful and I credit the internet for making it possible.
Not everything that came out of Pandora's box was evil.

I've never read any Chuck Tingle in my life, but his answers - his answers are just SO life affirming and wonderful and accepting, and are a joy to read.
Pretending that he is talking directly to me (who's to say he's not?) makes them even better.
Wonderful stuff.
I might even have to read a free Kindle snippet of the recent Harrit Porber book just for the heck of it.

I was reading this real-time on Reddit and I don't know what I expected of Dr. Chuck Tingle from hearing about him randomly at times on the internet. I had kind of assumed it was some blogger in the vein of Savage Love with a deeply satiric bent. Then I read his AMA and realized that whether this is performative or not doesn't matter, because it is pretty beautiful.

I've mentioned at other times that I bought Trans Wizard Harriet Porber And The Bad Boy Parasaurolophus because I'd never read a Tingler, and I figured tossing a few bucks his way for the joy he brings to the world was reasonable, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was laugh-out-loud funny in places, did fun things with the tropes, and, yes, was exactly as surreal as you'd expect (anthropomorphic motorcycles and all), but, yeah, Chuck's got an occasional place on my reading list now.

I'm a member of Romancelandia and fan of Chuck, especially since he came out with Not Pounded By Romance Wranglers Of America Because Their New Leadership Is From The Depths Of The Endless Cosmic Void when the RWA spectacularly shit the bed after years of racism and other discriminatory BS. No joke, Chuck always seems to be on the right side of issues I care about.

That seems to pretty clearly be someone different than the Chuck Tingle who made appearances back in 2016. Mark me down for a vote in the "Chuck Tingle is a piece of performance art, probably by a group of people" category.

There is also the possibility that Dr. Tingle exists and is as described, but also has a team of people helping him out and making public appearances on his behalf.
