But they don't stop, they just pause briefly.
Unless you count the Journey song as used in the "Sopranos" finale, which represents the ultimate STOP.

This video of Electric Six has them stop on the word 'stop', play a different song, and then call out 'continue' and finish the previous song. I hope this satisfies your criteria.

I was hoping this would be songs that had been recut to finish with the word. The Supremes’ “Stop! In the Name of Love” begins with the chorus, so after a brief instrumental swell, it would be a one-word sing, ending at about the two-second mark.

I just wanna STOP …. and thank you baby.
I guess I don’t understand this concept of stopping on “stop.” Or is the point they don’t stop on stop? I’m so confused.

It was in there briefly - but here is Rankin Full stop from 1979 live. - notable for multiple deployments in a single song.

Now I'm wondering what songs should do if, instead of a lyrical stop sign, there's a lyrical yield sign. Check for other traffic approaching the intersection, I guess?
