Saw them open for the Liars a few months ago and was impressed though the singer's voice was a little grating after a while. Interesting link.

;) There are two separate Mediafire download links for "No Age" and "Nouns" in the top 25 google results. Just like the Wolf Parade leak earlier this week, I think it *has* to be intentional. Too many copies arriving at places at the same time.

Anyway, all I can say is I really like the album quite a bit so far. I wish there were more of the instrumental noise as opposed to the happy pop. Keechie is great, and I like the end of Ripped Knees a lot too.

Sidenote download: No Age's cover of Bjork's It's Oh So Quiet on the free Stereogum compilation is a lot of fun too. It's like a musical theater interlude by The Jesus and Mary Chain.

Also, good band name. Three thumbs up all around.

Those mediafire results weren't working earlier today, and Sub Pop's been pretty aggressive about this one. But I got my copy the old fashioned way—a friend burned it for me.

They were pretty great in concert last Friday too, with Spunt pretty much owning the show. They reminded me of mid-'80s Sonic Youth (though I have to say that I didn't get to see SY live until the '90s, so that's a bit of conjecture).

Even if I downloaded it I would still buy it, because I love Wolf Parade.

I never got into No Age's "Weirdo Rippers" that much. If someone can confirm that every track on this new album is as awesome as the above-linked "It's Oh So Quiet," I'll agree to buy it and to love it.

I'll buy At Mount Zoomer ... when it comes out in June. I'm planning to get Nouns too. Good stuff all around.

Any other good new releases? Three that spring to mind: Foals Antidotes, Fuck Buttons Street Horrrsing, and tapes 'n tapes Walk It Off.
