Did you create or change your MetaFilter user name just for this FPP?

I opened the tin. It was all moldy inside.

You have to have one of them new-fangled browsers to find the cow, though.

"Sorry, your browser does not support the Web Audio API, which is an integral part of this experiment. Currently, the only supported browsers are Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Safari."

... i use firefox. meh.

Not exactly the best way to sell the Web Audio API.

Everyone knows the invisible cows are at Mauna Kea.

I got that same message using Firefox 24. I had to update to 25.0.1 first, then the page works. I'm not sure that's a good reason to update, though.

I found the cow quickly, but waited to click so I could explore the different intensities of cowgasm.

So... my telnet app isn't going to cut it, then?

Sigh. I've resisted upgrading all these years, but if invisible cows are at stake, ... here I go.

Wow that was upsetting. I don't like the internet yelling at me.

I failed. Beyond failure. I cannot find a single cow, no matter how much he yells at me.

I'm kind of impressed that someone upgraded just for this.

Invisible cow, invisible tin, inaudible shouting (with the sound off). I enabled the findtheinvisiblecow javascript so I could "Start game," but it seemed to want more, which I will not do. Nothing here for me.
posted by Kirth Gerson at 1:58 PM on November 20, 2013

Then when you finally find the cow it says "Moo."

Like Hey, 'sup I'm a cow.

Which is kind of weird after all the shouting.

This Is Just To Say

I have found
the cows
that were in
the browser

and which
you were probably
hiding
from clickfest

Forgive me
they were demented
so fleet
and so loud

Seconds of fun, then they hide the cow again.

I don't know which is worse--that I would waste time clicking on this till I found a cow, or that someone would post it.

Eh, meh moo.

I have found 6 now. Elder Monster is laughing his ass off. I have a thing for cows.

No, but it would have been a good reason to do so. I've had a thing for cows since the early days of The Far Side, and my name comes from the sound a Polish cow makes.

Surprisingly fun. My dog came in to investigate as i played. Perhaps I should have named him "cowcowCowCowCowCOWCOWCOW!!!"

OK brain, yes, you're right, this is unbearably annoying. So why won't you let me stop? WHY?

For those of you for whom this is not working, please tell me how to make it not working in chrome.

I would greatly prefer it if this did not unexpectedly start happening on websites I visit.
