I always wondered what happened to The Stylish Batch.

LOLywood.

That's basically how I dance, apparently. People who approach going out dancing as a vehicle for getting laid are living in a totally different universe than me.

Totally worth it, especially for the bit at about 1:40 which I want as my new ringtone

The guy smoking the pipe who came down the steps reminds me of Al Sharpton.

I really hope there is no explanation for this. I really just want it to exist, as itself, for itself, spawned from the brow of the internet.

It reminds me of the sequence in Ghostworld.

I was holding my shit together until that guitar player came in with his cookie monster voice.

I had no idea robotic hips existed in the 70s. Clearly, hers were about to bust out of her body.

It is odd that the curvy and sexy young ladies wear men's pants and shirts.

*grin.

Totally loved that. So fun. Just when I thought it couldn't get sillier, it did. And then even more.

That vid is an example of Lollywood Sleaze. A genre. The L is for Lahore, of course. L + ollywood.

Wearing trousers or dancing like that would have been considered pornographic in Pakistan in the 70's.

Related, wonderful post about the Bollywood Sleaze dancer, Helen, by bookish.

A delightful example of Kollywood Sleaze. Jasmine in her hair, which is typical for women in South India. K (for Kerala) + ollywood.

Maybe it's me but that evoked the Rocky Horror Picture Show (Time Warp part) as it would have been directed by Tarantino.

"That's basically how I dance, apparently" Me too hermitosis. If I ever see you at a meetup I will have to challenge you to a dance off. There can be only one!

"this is my life...wtf!? those are the same dances musicians do today just with far less clothing!" This comment is useless without photos ;)

I missed that bookish post Nicky and now all his links are broken :(

"as it would have been directed by Tarantino." Oh yeah, just add it to the list of things that no talent hack has stolen over the years konolia.

It did remind me of the "Down in Mexico" segment of Deathproof. Rapid cuts to observers, framing the dance as poses, and probably more stuff I'm missing.

I wish I was having half as much fun as shown.

Personally, I look forward to the day when I walk in to a room and have to look around, cautiously, just with my eyes.

Dartingly.

Wow, brilliant. I was really digging the song, honest, but that cookie-monster-guitar-guy ruined it for me.

Also, those gals shore are frisky.

vronsky, had to dig around the web a bit but found some Helen for you. Here with a caged man, classic. Snake dance. Smoky bar.

Holy smokes, i've just found the personification of sexy.

I always had an inkling it might be hiding in the 70's somewhere.

Also: How about a Stylish Patch tribute band/album in mefi projects or music - who's in?!

So, it's a quiet Sunday morning...barely awake...I'm just sitting down to check my mail, browse the overnights at MeFi...sipping my coffee...and I find...THIS!
