I've always wanted to do a toaster FPP. I love toasters. I seriously get excited when spotting toasters in films from the '40s and '50s. And I swear that toast made in an old toaster tastes better than stuff made in a more recently made toaster.
My favorite toaster in my collection is the Toast-O-Lator. It has a conveyer system to move the bread through the toaster, and it also has a little porthole window to check on the moving toast. Unfortunately, the one I have needs a new heating element and who knows when I'll get around to fixing it.

Ah, toaster lust. After years of cheap toasters burning out, jamming and breaking apart I succumbed and bought a Dualit (2-slice). O.K, 90 quid is a stupid amount to spend on a toaster but they are built like tanks and make great toast. The manual eject means the toast sits and stays warm rather than pops up and there is something very reassuring about the sound of the clockwork timer.

I'm just happy to find out I'm not the only person obsessed with toast.
I blame it all on my grandmother's old toaster, an shiny silver and black Toastmaster. When you'd put the bread in, it would automatically lower itself slowly into the toaster and begin toasting. I was fascinated. Any excuse to have toast was a good one.
