Word of God Chicago man finds a series of bizarre notes from God threatening very specific sinners taped up in the windows of random businesses.
I love that link and wouldn't have found it on my own. Death to the sinful users of cassette tapes and headphones!

Thanks squirrel! I love weird urban stuff like this. I especially like how Mr. Word directs specific wrath at the site owner...(and "Hades!", the exclamation point is so perky).

It sort of spoils the story to know that the author has gone back and embellished some of the content like this. It is still very entertaining and all but I'm wary of trusting the accuracy of what this guy is reporting.

there was a similar religious/probably off their meds person in my 'hood a few years back who did the exact same thing - leaving rambling warnings from god on storefronts and newspaper boxes. it went on for ages and then that was it, nothing for the last few years. i never bothered photographing or keeping the slips of paper, but around the same time i found & kept these crazy notes regarding 9/11.

I like the way he signs all his notes "sincerely," even when he's condemning people to Hades (Hades? what religion is this, anyway?). "Sincerely, the Word of God" -- isn't that nice and polite? Shows you the Word of God was raised right.
And there's no way that second batch of notes is from the same guy. I understand the poster's deep need to reconnect with the Word, but that's just wishful thinking.

I'm going to quote the liner notes here; those of you who want to hear it are going to have to try to find the out-of-print CD "I'm Just the Other Woman" (Carnage Press CP-719). I promise you, it will change your life.
The Will of God One of a very few songs I know sung by Jesus Christ, in the first person. Evidently writer Dan Ashwander was discharged from the Army after being shot in the head, and has subsisted on diability benefits ever since. He's a truly dedicated schizophrenic who spends all of his government cash on three things: putting out tract papers full of his paranoid rants; commissioning recordings of his song-poems; and enjoying the favors of hookers. His nutty take on Christianity and fear of "the evil German race" that wants to "send people down the road to hell/With a secret Nazi dictatorship" has made Ashwander an underground star in his own right.
