peace pooping

Poop is the one experience all human beings have in common. Did you "take some time to think when you take your time to stink" on Poop for Peace Day? Well, if not, the day after is a perfect time to properly honor this noble holiday. Sure is hard to argue with this: "We all poop, which means we're all human, which means we're all brothers and sisters." [via skimble]

I remember first reading about this in a little kid's weblog (poopreport.com credits Trystyn with the initial idea) a couple years ago. An interview with Praeger. I didn't make it through all the comments, but the section on childbirth poop was informative (I had been led to believe this didn't happen, in the past.).

There's a Japanese bookstore in San Francisco that had a whole slew of these books - Everyone Farts, Everyone Eats, Everyone Poops, Everyone does this that or the other thing - I found them right before my nephew was born in 1999. The one I wanted to buy was "The Gas we pass."
Think I will do so now. Thanks for the reminder.

Colostomy bags people. That way you don't need to poop and the article becomes even less relevant.

I learned html and web design while I was in my mother's womb (it was one of those distance learning classes) and my site went live a few days after I was born...
Welcome to my site. There will be some talk about poop.
:) Thanks, PY; Trystyn's site is great. And thanks, too, to all of you who've been good enough to apply your rigorous logical thinking skills to this obviously complex and difficult situation.

Other things humans share :
Birth, death, air, food, and also all those tiny little mites that come out at night to dance around on our faces, copulate, and feast on skin flakes and the tasty, sustaining oil that flows from our sebaceous glands and out our pores.

Well, shit, no one told me about Poop For Peace day. One can hardly participate in such a movement without having been informed.

now a bowel movement is something i can really get my ass behind.
i just passed on a job at a wastewater treatment plant where all of the city and surrounding area's toilet treats end up.
the gross materials; non-digestables, tampons, disp diaps, tp etc are filtered off and the remaining sludge is settled out, dried/pelletized and sold as fertilizer for lanscaping firms.
wipe well and have a green day.

Gotta be more to it than that. That shit's gotta be digested, aerobically and anaerobically. And tested for heavy metal content, too, I should think.

fff, you think correctly.
i shortened the process considerably and the 'product' goes from aerobic tanks to aerobic tanks and back to aerobic tanks while being treated and de-treated before it gets to the stage where the water is put back into the river and the remains dried and tized.
