Big fan of both Downton and of Jimmy Fallon but this is pretty awful.

Just watching Brooke Shields try not to lose it during Higgins's dark and possibly forced reveal is worth it.
If only he had ad-libbed "dropped my rusty anchor in the blue lagoon."

Watched the first one: Brooke Shields is a very good Lady Grantham. That was the funniest part of this, and it wasn't all that funny.
I suppose you could mix impression, satire and self-referential jokes together and get something very good. However, the impressions are generally bad past the "bad for comic effect" level. The satire focuses on narrow character traits and that makes me feel like the writers were only pretending to be familiar with material. As for the self-referential bits, jokes about disposable pop culture are precisely the reason I'm not interested in watching Jimmy Fallon. (that and also because there should be a New England fatwa against him for "Fever Pitch.")

I love the series, but the characters are as wild and unpredictable as Swiss public transit.

A. D. Miles Dowager Countess is to me the funniest part of this. The facial expressions are just incredibly hilarious.
