Origami Simulator – fold, unfold, and play with models in your browser.
It may look a little different from what you typically think of as "origami" - rather than folding paper in a set of sequential steps, this simulation attempts to fold every crease simultaneously. It does this by iteratively solving for small displacements in the geometry of an initially flat sheet due to forces exerted by creases. You can read more about it in our paper:

There's a guy I follow on Insta who folds the kind of thing that's shown in the tesselation examples and they are kind of amazing.

Great, I had just decided recently I need to spend more time with my wife and less time looking at screens. Hey, maybe I'll make her a card based on these designs...

(Although it doesn’t seem to cope with self-intersection of the paper. That’s a harder problem, probably.)

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but how do you modify where the creases are?

Wonderful.
Only had a little play so far, but - delightfully - if you bring up the Frog Base you get a warning to be sure to increase the fold percent slowly or it doesn't work. And if you don't, it doesn't, or rather, the fold goes wrong. Try it.
This is possibly my new favourite bug*.

Erik Demaine also co-authored a very fun book, for those who enjoy the computational aspect of such things : Geometric Folding Algorithms. Even for those not interested in the algorithmic side, it's worth a look.

Carillon: It looks like the only way is to load a fresh SVG file of creases into the simulation.
