Listen up geek. You know you want to build something like this. Admit it. (Not the site, the content foo!)
Sweet. I saw an old wooden desk at a garage sale that would be PERFECT to build a computer into... I wonder if I could take a flatscreen apart and build that in, too?

I like the subliminal NRA propaganda (sticker, gun cleaning hat, ammo, gun oil).

Forget the computer thing -- check out the weird collection of audiofiles at supersiteusa.com (the host site).

There's nothing subliminal about a dish filled with bullets.

I would guess so. It looks entirely staged. I don't think it just so happened that this guys bullets, hat, and calendar were all so well presented in this picture. There is definately a hidden agenda with this website.

Y'all are starting at shadows again with this NRA conspiracy stuff. Most people who clean their guns do so on a work table. I would assume anyone hacking an aluminum travel case to bits in which to build a computer would also do so on the work table...where the pics were taken.
You lefties are funny.

Speaking of funny, notice the bullet holes in the gun-cleaning hat. HA HA. Rednecks are funny.

Good catch, crunchland! I missed that one! I did notice nobody mentioned the Bill Clinton $3 bill, though...*snicker*

am I the only one who sees this as redundant... ? a computer in a big metal suitcase. how is that different to a computer in a computer case? they're both big and square. and metallic.
why not just weld a handle to your case?

and whether it's staged or not, this person definately has some gun fetish. coupled with the desire to covertly hide a computer in a metal briefcase, i'd be looking to see where they hide their tinfoil hats and copies of catcher in the rye.

And what is with that Texaco mug.
I think the computer is pretty cool, and I don't think it is all that odd to see that an NRA member might have all the ingredients to roll his own bullets in one spot. He made a pretty elegant use of space in the case, I would like to see some exterior shots to see how nice he managed the holes for the fans, and the interface.
I don't like novelty hats either.

"why not just weld a handle to your case?"
Apparently this guy saw that question coming. Here is an excerpt from the second page of the site.
"Admit it. It would be much easier and just as convenient to get a cheap ATX minicase and slap a handle on it. (GM door pulls work great) But that would be too easy, and it wouldn't be as cool."
Spanktacular, I resent being called a lefty (or given any kind of political affiliation for that matter) simply because I think this guy's hidden agenda is made obvious by the conviently placed gun stuff on his work table.
"I would like to see some exterior shots to see how nice he managed the holes for the fans"
Click through the site. There are quite a few more pictures than just the single one on the front page.

not only did he anticipate the question and answer it, but it looks like he actually made good on the gm-doorpull-on-an-ATX-box idea. {that's where KILLDOZER lives! "I named it MANKIND. Every computer needs a name."}

In case anyone is interested, I built a computer into a 1 foot US Postal Service Bulk mail container. Some pictures can be seen here. It's 5 inches high and handles on both ends. And the cover simply slides off. It is a Mac running LinuxPPC inside. I use it as a remote music server.

I personally think the guy who built his computer in a briefcase loses points because a) he drilled big holes in the side for the fan exhaust; b) he resorted to putting those plastic zip-strip fasteners on the outside of the case (and the fact that they are florescent doesn't matter); and c) he relies on an external monitor.
But then, that's just my opinion. More power to him, bullets and all.

But seriously, people who do this are a breed apart. I'm off to look for the link of the bloke who turned a server into a fridge.
