Just came here to post this! Awesome article, and left me about as melancholy as his work.

Fantastic! I love this photo. But seriously, I am reminded of American Pictures of Danish hobo Jakob Holdt, who in the early 70's travelled for 5 years in America & documented life as he saw it. This book influenced me greatly to leave the comfort of Denmark and come to the States.

I feel like I've always known his photographs, but this is the first time I have ever read anything about him as a person. What a great article.

Growabrain, I love, love, love those photos - and the captions, particularly this one.

I still hope to see his movie about the Rolling Stones someday, somehow.

But his stills? They are part of my photographic DNA.

Great article about a great artist, but I especially liked the ending.
