Meet the New (Transphobic) Boss. Same as the Old (Homophobic) Boss
July 11, 2023 3:43 PM   Subscribe

Shaun, YouTube lefty and agitator, presents his 2 hour treatise on Kellie-Jay Keen (AKA Posie Parker) a noted anti-feminist and transphobe. CW: transphobia (obviously), misogyny, homophobia, Nazis (both neo and classic), hate speech, etc.

KJK continues to openly align herself with neo-nazis and far right Christian groups. For her, no price is too high to pay in order to remove trans people from society, including the right to women's bodily autonomy. KJK is fully mask-off. Yet, KJK's rising popularity and clout has gotten her support from other prominent TERFs who previously snubbed her such as Rowling and Julie Bindel. Funny that.

If you enjoy Shaun's dulcet tones check out his Twitch channel as well.

In case anyone did a double take before realizing this wasn't about Parker Posey, there's this handy mnemonic.

My theory about her is that she kills Teletubbies and skins them for her garments ... (oh yes and she's plain unadulterated evil)

Shaun is a treasure, and one of the few people whose multiple-hour videos I am always happy to watch. Also, since his visuals are usually showing that he’s not taking text out of context, you can usually treat the videos as podcasts.

I watched about 45 minutes of this before I had to stop. I'm glad the reporting is being done. I just wish it weren't needing to be done.

A content warning — the second half of the video reports in some particularly vile comments Keen made about transphobic assaults as well as suicide. If this is likely to be too much, Shaun does warn before starting the section, if you want to watch up until that point.

It's good to see Bilek getting more light on her- she's been lower-profile lately since she can't shut up about The Jews but every high-profile Gender Critter loves her, and the transphobic media really, really doesn't want you to know that.

Thanks for posting this, PP arrived here funded by a UK branch of the Federalist Society afaict. She's poisonous and dangerous, and was supported here by libertarians, the far-right, Dominionists, anti-vaxers and other weirdnesses.

why wtf? They're funding a lot of ourright evil in my country, not hard to follow the money trail of traitors like PP.

The money trail also goes to Turning Point UK, who are desperately search for "woke events" to protest about and even more desperately searching for young people who support their movement. They recently cancelled a camp-out for young activists because they could not find anyone under the age of 30 who would support their cause.

This lady and her ilk have made me plan a trip to Europe I want to take expressly make sure I don't go through Heathrow, Gatwick, or any other English airports. Maybe something through Edinburgh or Dublin, but even wanting to go to one of my ancestral homelands (Wales) is now off the list, because I might do something like visit a museum while Trans and they would get the vapors or some bullshit like that.

It's actually very depressing for me - I'd love to go but, like a trip to Disney World, it's too dangerous for me.

You obviously have to make your own risk assessments but border security is not a devolved responsibility i.e. flying via Edinburgh (home of JK Rowling) is no different from flying via Manchester or London.

My read was that the wtf was because the Federalist Society is about US constitutional originalism, and the UK is not governed by the US Constitution. Kind of like Canadians who get upset about their “second amendment rights”. (Of course, the Federalist Society is really about a super regressive vision for society, with “constitutional originalism” a convenient cover story, which is why they can easily transfer to other countries. But still eyeroll-inducing to see.)

I had not thought their particular strain of American crazy would take root in foreign soil. It's like finding monarchy activists setting up shop in the US.

They're all over Silicon Valley.

Right wing American groups are behind most if not all of the anti-lgbt legislation currently moving its way through African legislatures.

Well, they kind of are, PG, and they kind of aren't.

The weird Mencius Moldbug freaks are in favour of a kind of what they call monarchy but really they want any kind of absolutism that resolves the inherent contradiction in the liberal bourgeois democracy + capitalism combo (which is that unequal economic resources have to coexist with notional civic equality). Of course, that is neither the only nor the healthiest way of resolving that contradiction but the point is this: these are not "real" rooted throne and altar monarchists because that requires a specific monarchic tradition. I.e. there are not American Carlists or something like that, these people are just anti-democratic but wanted a more fun name for that.

What makes the Canadian 2nd amendment activists and British Federalists weirder (if you can imagine such a thing) than the SV "monarchists" is that they aren't pursuing an abstract shared political project - i.e. Canadian gun rights activists and British small-staters are real and make sense in their own political contexts - but are pursuing a specific rooted political tradition that has roots in another country and doesn't make sense for them.

The analogue would be if these SV guys specifically thought the descendants of Bonny Prince Charlie or the house of Orleans was their rightful monarch.

Here's another US-funded religious racist movement, this time Australia.
If they are not Dominionists they have very similar goals https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jul/13/indigenous-voice-no-campaigns-deep-links-to-conservative-christian-politics

Meanwhile in NZ we have a whole lot of Sovereign Citizens appointing local "Sherrifs" wasting police time, threatening to kill politicians and council officeers etc. and every one who digs finds a $ trail that goes back to US, or sometimes UK - but the UK money trail then goes back to US.

All the NZ Sov Cits are people who never protested at all, or who have neo nazi backgrounds, but are now effective as they are being funded, they have stated their aim is to make NZ ungovernable. The question is who are they doing this for.
