I bet you this is the first Metafilter post using "bukkake", "necrophilia" and "tentacles" as tags.

Oh wow, the memories! I remember being in college and seeing the first strips of Sexy Losers on a friend's PC. Next thing you know, we'll be making FPPs on stileproject. Ah, misspent early days of internet access.

Also, the same artist made A Heart Made Of Glass. Just so that people can chase down that bracing shot of perversion with a tall glass of emo.

I remember when I was introduced to this (it was still called "The Thin H Line" back then), and it always had a banner that just had a black background, with a drawing of a gas mask and the words "Stile Project", and I thought, "Oh, another similar webcomic", and I clicked it.

For those who never heard of that site, all tags and subjects here also apply. But it's not a webcomic. You might have heard of it as the origin of such internet staples as "goatse" and "tubgirl".

Now excuse me while I go scrub my brain with some bleach.

In all seriousness yeah this strip is out of commission these days I think, but oglaf is my current replacement.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR MOUTHS?

This is what happens when you air-kiss too many times. Without the backpressure provided by actually kissing something - even if it's ass - lips will overpressure and eventually they'll permanently blow out like this. It's a terrible disease but thankfully it seems to be restricted to areas of ridiculous affluence like Hollywood.

The really crazy thing is that the people it happens to most can usually afford to have it corrected, but there are many who see these blown out lips as fashionable, but thankfully most see it as gauche and passe and promptly seek treatment after a blowout.

10 years is a long time to write jokes about having sex with dead people and bukakke.

Many artists, from Jackson Pollack to AC/DC to Louis Wain, have devoted lifetimes to exploring variations on a theme.

Oglaf makes me think of the True Porn books. I loved them because they're raw and funny (and bonusplus, true!) but do sometimes swing a little too wildly between grossly emo and just grossly gross.
posted by Juicy Avenger at 10:39 PM on April 27, 2010

What I like about oglaf is that in most of the more adventurous sex/humor strips there is a hetero male bias, and while I can definitely relate and all it is nice to see some variety (ie. not many straight dudes would write pegging and forced gay cocksucking jokes). Not to say that oglaf is some paragon of enlightened feminist consciousness, but at least the author has a slightly different perspective, and that fresh perspective is pleasant to see.

The Oglaf artist has a much better grasp of anatomy. And some of her best work is basically non-porn. Eg Fountain of Doubt, or Ulric The Just.

This is true, joe's_spleen, but none of it quite reaches the pointed satire of the cartoonist getting beaten up for gender-reversing the "Horny Mom" plots and wailing that the audience thought it was funny one way.

Funny. I've saved one of SL's strips before, in my comics folder.

And this FPP is at least as good as half a dozen other "Hey! This artist does neat stuff!" single-link posts I've seen on the Blue, so... haters gotta hate. Get over it.

Hint: Go click on something you like.

I was once doing a spot of private math tutoring for a fourteen year old kid. I had brought my laptop along and he wanted to load up a homework file off his USB. But due to some kodak software on my computer, the moment he put it in, up on the screen splashed dozens of weird-ass extreme hentai images. The poor kid turned the brightest shade of red and frantically tried to close them down but they just kept cascading out. When he'd finally closed it all down we both awkwardly looked at each other for a moment, then pretended nothing had happened. The moral of the story: never put your USB into someone elses computer unless you're comfortable about the possibility of any images on it automatically opened without warning

In the future, everything will be a euphemism. If you say "I went out for ice cream with my niece," FBI vans will arrive promptly to your property.

Sexy Losers wasn't a pornographic comic -- it was a comic about pornography. And could be very biting satire.

That'd be me. I checked with her, and also with cortex, before posting. I didn't want to leave a flaming bag of poop on the front page (and ringing the doorbell and running away, suppressing giggles). The mods have enough things on the site to mop up after.

...and I revel in sharing fart jokes with jessamyn IRL because of the expression she gets on her face.
