More Time Travel in the time of COVID-19

For a third round, comedian Julie Nolke travels back in time to utter vague and disturbing prophecies to her younger self. This time, October travels back to June, and appears to be finally losing it.

Just watched this, haven't seen the first two but have already hit subscribe (and mashed that like button!) after watching this episode. I hope it continues, it's not only funny but I think it helps (re) contextualize one's own progress through this decade-in-a-year.

I love these a lot, although for some reason I felt this one didn't hit as hard as the last one. Possibly because we're all just numb from the constant horribleness of 2020.

I had totally forgotten about Beirut blowing up. When she mentioned "at least no cities have exploded" and her future self was like "wellll" I literally had to think for a minute about what she was talking about. Any other year that would be on our radar for MONTHS. Two days after it happened I had already moved on to other disasters. WTF 2020.

All of her stuff is really good I hope she gets a Netflix show or something.
Is toilet paper a problem again? My store is all stocked up now. They even FINALLY got lots of antibacterial wipes and sanitizer and stocking up on those did a lot for my anxiety (I know that surfaces are less worrisome now but I still don't want to touch things at stores).
Funny thing; I just now finished the giant bag of rice I panic-purchased in March so I guess those last six months, which is good to know. I'm actually planning a Costco run to stock up again.
I'm not sure I'll ever eat all the beans in my pantry, but maybe when it gets colder.

Yeah teh wipes are store-brand (Albertsons) generic-looking, so I'm guessing it was some kind of specialty arrangement, but the shelves have stayed full.

I think this might be referencing the second waves which are starting to hit various parts of the US. Could be wrong, though; maybe I'm forgetting something, which wouldn't be hard considering how much is going on.

Apparently here in Southern Ontario, it is happening again - Costco is running out on a daily basis, the signs about limiting customers to "X-number of units" have been put up again. People are planning for another lockdown.

Wow - I just watched the first one again this morning for some reason, so seeing this is making my brain a bit bouncy.
I didn't like #2 so I went in to this new one with low expectations, and I loved it.

TP is an issue here in Chicago land as well, seems to be a pendulum where once a shop is out word spreads and people stock up. And by people, it's me. I stocked up. Our Local costco swings from an entire semi's worth of each of the two brands,* and then it's gone, and it's been like that for a couple of weeks. Stuff like Chlorox wipes have been unavailable for a little bit longer.

Yeah, the joke I've seen lately on FB is that in the future people will write their political science and history dissertations on, like, October 2nd, 2020 with a little bit of October 3rd.

Remember how we found out President Deals only paid $750 in taxes twice in 15 years? That was last week.

In my mind, that new cycle was incredibly long, went away, and came back. We had the President fighting the mayor of San Juan, a reunion Hamilton show on the island, just fundraiser after fundraiser. (Which isn’t to say that Puerto Rico got the care it needed, at all.) You want a short disaster news cycle, I point you to the derecho that smashed up the midwest, didn’t even get a check-in thread on MetaFilter, and was followed immediately by Beirut.
