This is how you remind me of someday (WARNING: mp3 link) Two nickelback songs (someday and this is how you remind me) played on the same track, someday on the left channel and remind me on the right. its almost like catching someone cheating. a band makes two songs in the same key, same structure and progression due to a lack of originality. so the two together just kind makes a dueling symphony of unorginal catchiness. And they combine to make a pretty cool song.

(I knew this because I was going to post it today too!!)
Personally, I think it is damned funny.

We waited 7 Days for bob to post his goddamn link...and it turns out to be a double post!?!?!? Can we perhaps implement a rule where new users can't post for at least two weeks after signing up...and where they lose posting rights for a month if they make a double post? Would this be hard for mathowie to code?*

Bob: don't sweat it. Shit happens.

Um, I had an unbelievably witty comment before "Kill the newbie" there, but Mefi ate it for formatting reasons. Well, still, the sentiment stands ;)

Also, depending on your host, you may be eaten alive bandwidth-wise.
To continue the discussion, at least, I think this is way better than the originals.

bob, I'd just like to introduce you to my first ever post and its ensuing metatalk thread.
I'd like to think later I became a good contributing member.

Wow. That's really a bummer, Bob. And very alanironic. Luckily for you, it's so embarassing that I bet most people think it's funny and feel bad for you instead of sending death rays your way. Which, you know, might be better than had your first post been anything else.
Don't castrate yourself. That would be bad.

eddydamascene, why did you link to an old, deleted Metatalk post??
Bob, don't worry. It happens to all of us. Especially the first time. Its just the stress. I'm sure things will go better next time. Perhaps we should just wait 24 hours and try again.
Seriously -- try to hold a sense of humor about this. Its the only thing you can do. If you post, you're always running the risk of double-posting, no matter how hard you search. I've done it, and I'm sure just about every frequent poster here can say the same.

Also, ummm, bob -- not to pile on or anything but 'hosted on your server' makes it a self-link, another no-no...
Sorry.
