The Complaint Department: an appreciation

This cat is presumptuous. Before Sockington, before Simon's Cat, before Maru, the Internet had the Complaint Department.
Some of her most memorable Complaints:
Cat, did you notice that you are on Valium?
How strange, Cat. You are snuggly, and not at all bothersome.
Monkey, are you sleeping?
Get back, Monkey, I have claws!
Monkey! Fix my life.
My vengeance will be swift and terrible.
*sits on monkey's knee, the better to shun monkey*
The Monkey that belongs to the Complaint Department is also known as science fiction writer Elizabeth Bear, of Jenny Casey, Shadow Unit, A Companion to Wolves, Shoggoths In Bloom and other fames. (Previously.) In Bear's own words: "I tell lies to strangers for money."
Send kind thoughts. The Complaint Department has small-cell lymphoma.

Oh God, yes, I remember those Monkey stories.
Poor Complaint Department. I hope she has lots of snuggly, bossy, demanding days left.

C.D. is 17 years old. She's had a great run in cat terms. Alas, cats do not last forever. Still deeply misses own cat Furball, gone 12 years now.

No more days, but one last night at home, at least. I bet she got to put her butt anywhere she wanted all night, too.
