> Discussion recently has risen around a heuristic known as the Twitter “ratio”: if the number of replies vastly exceeds the number of retweets and likes, then the tweet is “bad."

This seems utterly counterintuitive to me. A "bad" tweet is one a lot of people engaged with enough to actually type something in reply to, while a "good” tweet is one that is silently shared via retweets and shit-your-friends-liked?

But then again I have mostly left Twitter for Mastodon, where I love the switch at the top of the timeline that lets me turn off RTs from everyone in one fell swoop. It’s awesome, there nothing there but things my friends are actually saying, I can actually keep up with my timeline without it feeling like work.
