Miss Germany says 'Ja!'

Miss Germany wants to disarm Saddam - uhm - the old fashioned way. Would you give it up for peace? Would you lay down (for) the ... ultimate sacrifice? Miss Germany seems to say "Ja!" ... from India via Pakistan (if that isn't a sign that peace is possible, I don't know what is ...)

Ah, ok, if a prostitute can help avoid a war, so be it.

Maybe I shouldn't call her a prostitute - its late, I'm tired, the story took me by suprise. Shall we just call her a bawd, callet, call girl, camp follower, cocotte, cruiser, drab, fille de joie, harlot, hooker, hustler, joy girl, meretrix, moll, nightwalker, party girl, pom-pom girl, poule, quean, sporting girl, street girl, streetwalker, tomato, or whore?

so if they loaded her up with herpes first, would that be biological warfare?

Prior to Gulf I, wasn't there an Italian MP-cum-pornstar (sorry) who offered Saddam something near and dear to her if he pulled out of Kuwait?

C'mon juv3nal, a Vegetarian???

That is too funny. Now what?

I love it that Ms. Germany [sorry, Miss] has quite the slavic name.

Good for her though. Maybe she can ask Saddam if he'll just resign along with the 10 layers of secret service underneath him?

Well, it was a good pipe dream.

I would just like to say to Miss Germany that I, too, have been hiding lots of weapons of mass destruction in my basement, but I think that if she paid me a visit, we could avoid any uneccessary conflict.

But be it known that the Democratic Namespan Republic is fully capable of standing up to imperialist regimes...

I don't know how seriously I'd take the Miss Germany pageant...what the hell's the deal with Mr. & Mrs. Mouse and their unattached Elephant friend? And what's with the effeminate Charlie Chaplin?

Could one of the frustrated adolescents who has contributed so far point out exactly where Miss Germany says she is going to be offering sexual favours to Saddam? (I hope, in particular, that German libel laws can kick tomplus2 up the arse.)

I just find it quite heart-warming that a beauty queen takes the 'I want to work with children and for world peace' schtick seriously.

yep, you're right. I was reacting to the headline posted on mefi, not the story.

There is a history to beauty queens / stars who try to get involved with politics. She might not have any sexual intentions whatsover. My bad, sorry.

During the run-up to the Gulf War of 1991 an Italian actress offered to sleep with Saddam Hussein if he surrendered. Germany hopes to succeed where Italy failed.

I think that's where it comes from signal and riviera. It's obviously sensationalism, but if it wasn't, this would be a lot funnier:

In this she has the same aims as German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, and according to opinion polls, most of German people.

Dirty, dirty Germans!

Samsonov14, hee! I must admit that I clicked on this thread with some trepidation, fearing a lot of "how typical, those goddamn Germans are a bunch of Saddam-lovin' idiots, now do you see why we shouldn't give a damn what Old Europe thinks" type comments. Way to go, MeFites, for not delivering those! Maybe we are evolving as a subculture.....
