I dunno. I liked most of Mellon Collie, anyway. But once he started deviating into electronica and other non-rockishness... blech.

i wish him well, actually. i think he is a great human being, and like his music or not, i admire his honesty and the stance he takes on things, political and otherwise. i cant imagine what it would be like in a society such as this to get so popular... i would imagine it would make most of us want to jump ship too. :)

From the article: Corgan said he was so "concerned" with the "corrupt " and "disengaging US political system" that he is "seriously considering" emigrating.

I would say Italy is certainly the best place to escape such corruption. There you know where you stand -- laws exist. Laws are not enforced (unless someone has something to gain from them).

aw, man! ya mean i won't get to run into him at the supermarket anymore? i was just working up enough nerve to finally say "dude...you shouldn't stand so close to the honeydews."

corgan is about the only chicago celeb i've seen here in chicago. my favorite corgan sighting was when i saw him in line for the men's room at the tom waits show about a year back. he's like 8 feet tall!

they were a hell of a great band before they kicked the drummer out the first time. then they just sort of...wilted.

SP has the distinction of being the only concert I've walked out of. The most expensive I've attended as well.

I liked all the Pumpkins albums. But I like dance music as well as Rock and Roll (in fact I would tend to assert that good Rock music often is dance music) so the "electronica" influences were quite pleasent.
Expecting a band to only produce music that you like is absurd. Sometimes it takes a while to get into a specific sort of music (or literature or film). In my experience the stuff that takes the longest time to adapt to is the stuff that stays with you longest and means the most.

I like music. I like good song writers. From a songwriting standpoint, i think hes insanely creative... but since i can only see things from a songwroting standpoint these days, i get a lot of flack for what i like, and what i cant stand
