"Heartbreak In the Key of Roger Miller" - Joe Purdy & Friends

A friend sent me link to this vid and I just keep going back to it. My hope is that it'll catch you, too. This young man (more and more men are young to me as the years stack, I'm guessing Jon to be in his early 40s) this young man often sends me good links. He's from West Virginia, I've told him for years that he's got dirt on him, in a good way, maybe it's more that the dirt is in him; West Virginia seems to get inside the people, I think mostly in a good way.

Jon has forgotten more about music/bands/songs than I will ever know. Plus he's just ever so cool -- couple years ago on this one cold, wet, chill morning I was on my bike ride, I'm under the interstate thus out of the rain mostly, it's maybe 5:00 AM, just for the hell of it I call Jon, and he's blown out of his shoes, tripping his brains out, psilocybin, we're both laughing our asses off, he's all "What the hell are you calling me for at 5:00 AM?" and I'm all like "What the hell are you doing tripping your brains out at 5:00 AM?" A great phone call. So many people are all into text msgs anymore; they miss a lot, seems to me.

Anyways. I hope you like the music as much as I do. (I mean -- duh. Of course that's what I'm hoping for. We'll have to see.)

Great song, and +1 for Ozark Highlands Radio (and on YouTube). It's broadcast out of my home town, so if this is Your Cup Of Tea you should head to Mountain View, Arkansas. Pretty much every Friday and Saturday night (etc.) people just... gather in little clusters around the courthouse, and on various porches and gazebos nearby, to play for very small audiences of various sizes and degrees of audience participation.

I live out of the country these days, but I was just back last week for a family visit and have the itch to go back again. Thanks for sharing, dancestoblue.

For those not understanding the nod in the song title, this is Roger Miller.

Thanks, Catblack. Hadn't seen those and they're both fantastic.
