holy crap! I clicked on the link because I miss my cat who lives back home with my folks. Lo and behold, this cat looks EXACTLY like him! Only difference is that mine has longer ear and cheek fur. still made me do a double take.

The author should have made the virtual dog randomly bare his fangs and bark. That would have been the little cozy cottage with white picket fence in that particular uncanny valley.

I miss hearing my kitties purr, since I've been away from home all week. It doesn't sound like their in-and-out purring and it doesn't have that little thing they do with their paws when they purr.
