I've never heard the original version, though my first ever rock concert was Powerman 5000, Static X, and Dope, the last of whom did a cover of this song.
I got all nostalgic and giggled.
Sorry.

2) Very Funny.

I guess you all know the funnier Nina Gordon version - and the cover of that by Jay Brannan?

Mostly valuable for the all-too-familiar expression of utter exasperation on the driver's face. And the son's.

Oh, admit it, you see that expression every day, on nearly everyone around you, just like I do.

You do too. Don't kid yourself.

That's Adam Buxton off the Adam and Joe Show. Not his funniest stuff. Still quite amusing mind.

Folds is being ironical here; bitches are shit.

I know all rap sounds the same, kolophon, but those are covers of a different song. :P

I also want to go swimming with Lorenzo.

What I really like about Adam Buxton is that he likes to goof off on YouTube seemingly just for fun.

Check out his Sign Language backtranslation and his papal inauguration video, also, his recent Radiohead video. Lots more.

I thought that the:

They have the authority to kill a minority carry out inquires

bit was quite clever.

Are you even old enough to be on the Internet without supervision? Get off my lawn.

Nah, I'm just kiddin'. Seriously though, get off the lawn.

I've always found that Ben Folds cover uncomfortable. I mean, isn't this the nice, sensitive guy who did "Brick"?

Absolutely brilliant. Surely a struggle all of us aging hip-hop fans will have as we try to share the music of our youth with our children :-)

That Nina Gordon version that kolophon linked is fantastic. I've had it in my MP3 player for a year or so, and whenever it comes up on random play it always gets a smile.

On more than one occasion, I've had someone in the car when it starts to play and the inevitable reaction is "What the fuck? Seriously?"

Worth a chuckle, and I wonder how many takes it took to get it right.

I'm occasionally compelled to rewrite song lyrics on the fly, especially if a song is in heavy rotation. It's not so much for humor, as it is to get out from under the grinding repitition of it all. Especially the choruses, or sampled music.
