RCMP investigate culling of up to 100 sled dogs by Whistler based tour company. (Oh the irony.)

Previously. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have been accused of slaughtering sled dogs between 1950 and 1970 to force Inuit people into towns and less traditional ways of living. If it were true, it would be text book genocide. They have since denied this in official reports.

Now the RCMP are investigating the slaughter of roughly 100 sled dogs, and threats against the tour operator responsible for the culling. Apparently these cullings are not as uncommon as you might think.

This story is a terrible one, but the framing is manipulative and the attempted link between the history and the current event is forced. Flagged, sorry.

Meh, that's up to the mods. I've got a bias, just like everyone else.
