Inspiring leaders who aten't dead

I'm out of the loop. The first I heard about Jack Layton and Paul Wellstone and John Smith was when they died. Help a working mama out: who are the inspiring leaders who aren't dead yet? Obviously I skew Anglophone in my language constraints and bleeding-heart liberal in my politics, but I'm interested in hearing about anyone anywhere who seems compassionate and competent... so far.

What about inspiring undead leaders?

Osiris, Jesus, Anubis, Cheney...

AFAICT Cheney only inspires other aspiring eaters-of-kittens. But thanks!

Without some more precise idea of what kind of inspiration you're looking for, this is going to be pretty chatfiltery for the Green, too.

A red box is a phreaking device that generates tones to simulate inserting coins in pay phones, thus fooling the system into completing free calls. In the United States, a nickel is represented by one tone, a dime by two, and a quarter by a set of 5 tones. Any device capable of playing back recorded sounds can potentially be used as a red box. Commonly used devices include modified Radio Shack tone dialers, personal MP3 players, and audio-recording greeting cards.
