WHY ON EARTH DO WE NEED ANOTHER WEBSITE ABOUT VIDEOGAMES? Yeah, no, I know, but hopefully I'll be able to show that this one's doing something different than most of the rest. The site will be more about videogames' place in the wider cultural body, and how they influence other aspects of creative culture -- design, animation, music, film -- and how those other media influence (or should influence!) games in return. Brandon Boyer, formerly of Boingboing's (now defunct) Offworld, is starting a new video games website, his kickstarter project has

sponsor gifts: a wallpaper from Katamari Damacy guy Keita Takahashi, Minecraft character skins from Adventure Time's Pendleton Ward, new games from the creators of Canabalt, Super Crate Box, and Swords & Sorcery EP, a real deliverable version of insane "video" game Johann Sebastian Joust, a 7" of Jim Guthrie's music from the aforementioned S&S EP, James Kochalka's monster Mii trading cards, and print versions of Scott C.'s Great Showdowns.
