The whole thing is pretty sad, but one of the greatest tragedies of this whole affair is the media's insistence on overusing the "lions and tigers and bears" line.

Sorry, this is a really sad story all around, from pretty much any angle it's taken; (the collection of animals, caged in a world hostile to wildlife, the personal difficulties of the people involved, the deaths... the news; seemingly ever thus).
