Book review services are a vast but hidden corner of the Internet. The New York Times profiled one now-defunct GettingBookReviews.com, which commissioned 4,531 reviews in its brief existence, earning its creator $28,000 a month. One estimate is that about 33% of all consumer reviews on the Internet are fake.
