From One Second to the Next

The great Werner Herzog, the director behind some of the most memorable films of all time, has filmed and produced a series of public service announcements - in the form of short films - warning of the dangers of texting while driving.

The films - entitled From One Second to the Next - were released onto the internet this week and are harrowing, haunting stories. Of both those affected by drivers who were texting while driving, or who are the perpetrators themselves.

Herzog worked at AT&T on the project.

"What AT&T proposed immediately clicked and connected inside of me," Herzog told the AP. "There's a completely new culture out there. I'm not a participant of texting and driving—or texting at all—but I see there's something going on in civilization which is coming with great vehemence at us."

Huh. Not what I would have expected Herzog to take on as a project, but good for him.
