Millennials & Frustration Tolerance

This post was deleted for the following reason: It is not at all clear why we need another insubstantial handwringing piece about Kids These Days. -- restless_nomad

A generation ago, my college peers and I would buy a pint of ice cream and down a shot of peach schnapps (or two) to process a breakup. Now some college students feel suicidal after the breakup of a four-month relationship. Either ice cream no longer has the same magical healing properties, or the ability to address hardships in lacking in many members of this generation.

Well, there is one other possibility, which is that you're just making shit up, because twenty years ago, when I was in college, plenty of people were big wet heaps of despair after getting dumped by their four-month girlfriend or boyfriend. Because that's what it's like to be twenty years old, in 2013, 1993, or 1893.

It's gotten to a point where all I can do is virtually sputter about the Millennial-trolling articles that consistently come out. Probably because I've always trusted my helicopter parents to form my sentences for me.

The only thing that is better about a NYT Millennials trendpiece is a Salon Millennials trendpiece.

A lot of opinions about millions of folks taken from a data set of n=Amy.

Why do people love bringing up the "millennial brought their parents to an interview" canard? It *may* happen, but holy god, not like every third interview.
