What do Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, Beck Hansen, David Crosby, Gillian Welch, Norah Jones, Rick Rubin, Duane Eddy, Elvis Costello, Sting, Jack White, Elton John, Flea, James Taylor, Emmylou Harris and many, many other recording artists and producers all have in common? They are all unabashedly, unequivocally and enthusiastically positive about, absolutely gushing about, the sound quality of recordings heard through the PONO playback system being spearheaded by veteran rocker Neil Young. Check it out here and here.

The second link is a Kickstarter site, and I know that Kickstarter is not so kosher to link to here at Mefi, but the fact that it is the de facto PONO site, with a lot of information about the product, AND the fact that the 800,000 dollar goal has already been far surpassed (to the tune of $2,204,678) and is therefore clearly not linked to here to get your money but to simply provide information on the technology, I figured it could stand.

Hmm. Well, then, I s'pose if it's gotta go, it's gotta go. Rules are rules.

If you want playback of high-resolution audio, you should try the Astell & Kern 240.

Honestly if Jack White endorses anything I'm inclined to smell audiophile nonsense. I look forward to the second post, however.
