Dave Trampier, one of D&D's great artists, has died. Trampier created, among his other works like the Dragon strip Wormy, the iconic covers to the first edition Dungeons & Dragons Players' Handbook /a> and many other works. Trampier essentially vanished in 1988 leaving pay cheques uncashed. He was later discovered to be working as a taxi driver in Carbondale, Illinois, where he wanted to be left alone. He only recently agreed to return to the art world after decades in the wilderness.
