Neither Q nor A for the moment

Jian Ghomeshi, creator and host of the radio program, Q, is looking to file a $50 million lawsuit against the CBC after being abruptly fired for unspecified reasons apparently linked to his private sexual activities.

This followed an apparently amicable announcement earlier this week from the CBC and Ghomeshi, indicating the host was taking a leave of absence to deal with a personal matter. While it was thought this might have something to do with the recent death of his father, media critic Jessie Brown has been preparing a revealing story about Ghomeshi he has been working on for months. There have been rumours of negative behaviour involving the host before, but very little has been said publicly.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Seems like if this is a thing where there's an expectation of some sort of detailed reporting coming out soon, it'd be better to specifically wait until that has happened and/or there's some other less-rumor, more-facts-on-the-ground stuff shaking out. -- cortex

So then maybe it's not a good idea to speculate on things, given that we have no actual details, only the preemptive PR on his Facebook page.

I've heard many stories from women in the arts industry in Toronto who know personally that the xo-jane story rang VERY true. It's still tough to say anything with the info at hand, but it's known that Jian has hired a PR firm. It's tough not to see his facebook post as some very savvy spin.

Can we at least wait until the Jesse Brown story comes out?

Ghomeshi was preparing to host the Giller Prize Gala (one of Canada's highest literary awards) on November 10, but since it was to be broadcast on the CBC, the event has announced he won't be hosting.
