Japanese customer-service robots

Nagasaki’s Henn-na Hotel has said it has plans to try out human-like robots that check you in, take your bags, and escort you to your room; and at the same time Japan’s biggest bank says it's preparing to try out robot employees. Does this point toward to the future of human-robot interaction, or is it just PR puffery?
