Following yesterday's gyrocopter newsflash I searched duckduckgo for the various perspectives on the incident. Of all the apt examples of civil disobedience, this case seemed to me to be one with some of the most moral integrity. Thus, the reflection of the event in the media exposes the editorial bias pretty effectively... Here are three examples of online reporting:

Firstly, a few paragraphs on FAA rules and regulations from NPR... but no discussions around the issues cited in Hughes' letter.
Secondly, Hunter Schwarz, for the Washington Post, quotes Hughes many times at length- and after just one original sentence briefs the reader with the Hyperlink: "[A gyrocopter just landed on the Capitol lawn]"- which sends the reader to more FAA rules & regs, also citing insightful quotes such as “When he flew by us, he gave us a thumbs up”. The piece mainly focuses on cultivating an image of Hughes himself in preparation for the final twist in the tale:
"'Let's keep the discussion focused on reform -- not me,' he wrote.
- So much for that." concludes Hunter, hypocritically, having just constructed an article which frantically shies away from any evidence to suggest why Hughes might risk his life to make the point.
Finally , at last we have a short, more insightful text on the motivations and issues behind the story, which never the less, ends on a novel note, focusing on the stunt itself "'I don’t believe that the authorities are going to shoot down a 60-year-old mailman in a flying bicycle,' he said." - leaving the reader with a nice visual of a good old timey mailman flying a gyrocopter into washington.
... With such robust journalism around, is it any surprise that members of congress are so incorruptible?
