Girl Scouts Are Our Future

Every girl's sense of self, path to it, and how she is supported is unique. "If a girl is recognized by her family, school and community as a girl and lives culturally as a girl, Girl Scouts is an organization that can serve her in a setting that is both emotionally and physically safe."

Openly trans-friendly Girl Scouts. This is cool.

Inclusion of transgender girls is handled at a council level on a case by case basis, with the welfare and best interests of all members as a top priority.

I'm sure it isn't everything it could be, but it 's a big step forward. ("Inclusion" should be a mandate.) I notice the blog also posted about empathy the same day. Acceptance of others is the only way it works in the long run.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Neat, but this is a pretty short blog post and kind of more of a here's-my-personal-thoughts approach to your framing than is really normal for a front page post. -- cortex
