The surprising effect our expectations can have on the people around us. Plus, the story of a blind man who says expectations have helped him see. Yes, see.

There was a similar story from a few years ago about a man who was "blind" due to a neurological issue, but still had some ability to subconsciously "see" things.

The researchers would tell him to walk in a straight line down a hallway, which he was able to do unassisted. They'd then repeat the experiment, occasionally placing an obstacle in the hallway without telling him. Each time, he swore that he walked in a perfectly straight line, had no knowledge of an obstacle, and did not alter his course.

Brains are weird.

Needs "echolocation" tag. (I listened to the podcast a couple weeks ago, fascinating story.)
