Can 126,000 persons studied over 3,2000,00 person years be wrong. Maybe/Maybe Not. And the original abstract for your reading pleasure. At age 74 I am going to continue paying attention to these findings. Yes, there will be confounding factors--and yes--correlation is not causation. I have enjoyed the bit of extra butter over the last several years--never a big fan of red meat anyway--except for the occasionally indispensable beef burger/hamburger. To all of your health.

Anarch--wear your seat belt, don't smoke tobacco, exercise regularly, eat a varied diet, most things in moderation, use your turn signals and scientists are fairly certain the earth is not flat and the universe is big.

More importantly, they say, they found that death rates dropped by between 11% and 19%

Wait, the death rate is still 100%, right?

So um.

Is there a breakdown of ages for this study? What if fats are good when you're younger but bad when you're older, or vice versa? I can't see one.

That's what they want you to believe, sheeple. Why do you think they are called the 1%, hmm?
