An Excellent Cartoonist

Pat Bagley keeps Utah on it's toes, when he isn't actually on Utah's toes himself. Pat Bagley is one of the reasons I can live in Utah. His outlook repurposed into cartoon commentary is a delight to a huge swath of Utahans, others, not so much. He runs several memes, one of my favorites being the rubber lipped, bespectacled state legislator, often portrayed sized as a five year old in a big chair. Everyone else has equal opportunity to be a target. His skill and, state to world view, is born of long imprisonment in the would be collective meme.

Commentary on Chaffetz. Trump is an easy target. Discussing vetting of immigrants. Scrutinizing the dead Facebook deal. This ri-cheer is one of my faves, dealing with algae blooms in the state's reservoirs. Today's is the one that got me, again. He has books of his work, and once, for ten years or so, one of his cartoons was up, on my refrigerator. It concerned a rubber lipped little state legislator, in costume as Salome, bringing the attorney general's head in on a platter to Mike Leavitt, then governor of Utah. Religious themed cartoons, one more. Politico picked up on Bagley a little earlier.

He seems to anticipate Metafilter threads.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Hey there, sorry, the "here's my personal take/personal connection" framing here isn't the right way to present this for Mefi. Fine to repost without that stuff. -- LobsterMitten
