Some fishing boats are required to have fisheries observers on that record anything illegal they do, and occasionally the observers get murdered. A fisheries observer is basically a professional snitch, vulnerable, on a boat in international waters. Occasionally they vanish without a trace. Keith Davis disappeared under suspicious circumstances while working as a fisheries observer aboard a Chinese vessel, and this is what we know about it.
Not a lot of people know about this super dangerous job, but the recent disappearance of Keith gained the position a little attention. As the front line to illegal poaching and overfishing these observers are an important part of maintaining order on the high seas.
