A short documentary about an unfortunate car. How about the history of the car, High, Wide and Handsome? Facts about the Pacer for Axle Addict? Even more?
In the 1970s, American Motors was a struggling company. Its management decided to take a risk and try something all-new. In Project Amigo, The First Wide Small Car was conceived with no legacy, featuring a body style not seen before, using the latest technology, and exceeding upcoming safety regulations. Yet, it was made for a future that did not happen, commercially successful for a short time only — not long enough to save AMC.
From 'Code Name, Amigo'

Designed by Richard Teague who also brought us the Javelin and the Jeep Cherokee.
AMC Pacer Statistics and Fun Facts, such as in 1978 an added feature was a V8 engine!

There are two American automobiles that I've only ever seen once one the road, the Pacer and the Aztek.

Yeah, this is one of my sleeper car fantasy rides - cruise on up with a Pacer that has a Javelin 390cu motor hotrodded to hell and gone crammed under the hood. (The other one would be an early '80s Mercury Zephyr wagon, with the suspension and motor from a mid-aughts Cobra. Fox bodies FTW.)

The Pacer for Axle Addict link is bad. As is the High and handsome one.
