For those too young to remember, newspapers in the 1990s loved covering the northward migration of Killer Bees from South America (heading to the U.S. at 10 miles a year!) In the 21st Century, news outlets have covered stories of disappearing bees and colony collapse. But maybe the real story isn’t about bee populations, but rather the insidious issue of apian inequality. Two recent examples. Wicker Mom and the Boy in Bee Bubble.

This post was deleted for the following reason: These are two benign hey-look-bees stories, framed with reference to scary bee stories, inequality, ecological disaster, doom, ritual killings ... for unclear reasons? -- LobsterMitten
