YES THIS IS GOOD METAFILTER.
Also I agree with R.F. Simpson, MBDTF is the GOAT.

Whoa! I'm into this. Even though my love/hate relationship with Kanye is firmly in the hate zone these days, that album is one of my all time faves start to finish.

I'm a fan of this one. I spent a week this summer listening to the TPAB episodes and almost nothing else. At times it feels a little redundant, but the flipside of that is that you don't have to be following it super closely to keep up with the major themes as stated, and you could skip episodes if you wanted to. (Narrator: you won't.) I wish there were way more podcasts like this.

I love that he spends 20 hours per episode making these on top of a full-time job. I'm guessing this reality is part of what makes this type of thing so rare.

This is fabulous, thank you for posting it. I started with ‘Power’ and I feel like he is explaining to me reasons behind the shifts in emotion I experience when I listen to the song, but that I couldn’t have articulated (or just wouldn’t have thought to). Also I am bad at symbolism so his discussion of the the video for Power was super helpful, plus the way he provides real-world context. A++! Would overthink again!
