Something is wrong on the internet

Kid’s YouTube is definitely and markedly weird, but it also appears to be getting terrifying and disturbing as many use algorithmic discovery methods, low-effort production, and the malleability of children's' minds to systematically frighten, traumatise, and abuse children, automatically and at scale. If you can wade past the author's writing style, he ends up with an interesting perspective on how much of this and other media has stopped being 'human-led' in any meaningful sense and threatens to warp fundamental aspects of who we are.
