Liquid Television on Internet Archive

Liquid Television in its entirety is available on Internet Archive for streaming or download. For those unfamiliar, it was a three season animation anthology series shown on MTV in the early 90s.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Dang, looks like this isn't so much "archives released to the public" as it is "some rando scraped and uploaded a bunch of content" in this case, which yeah probably we should steer around as front page post much as I dig the spirit of the thing. -- cortex

Was shown in a late slot on BBC2 in the UK ... perfect post-pub mindfuckery.

My high school media arts teacher showed us the series in its entirety on a movie theater sized screen. It was a weird few weeks, with all of us dazedly wandering through our classes for the rest of the day, trying not to think about the fly in Aeon Flux.

Yaaaaaay! (Kermit arms) The Universe provides! Now give me the complete Sifl and Olly! And a complete archive of MTV Europe from '91 to '97 that just plays on a loop so I can pretend I'm still a teenager.

So much LSD and Weed was consumed by me during those hours. This will be fun to re-watch.

Oh yes. Yes yes.

Aeon Flux for sure. That one show about the racecar driver? With telekinesis? I would program our VCR to record this.

spikeleemajoretc: The Running Man. "Race car" doesn't begin to cover it, but that thing's haunted me for decades.

I feel like I'm watching archives from another country, maybe one of those Soviet satellites. Hard to believe this stuff was sandwiched between Whitesnake videos.

FYI Mike Judge's "Office Space" short is in episode 202 at about 10:00.

This is excellent. I only caught bits of this when I happened to stay up late back in the day. Actually watching it like a real show instead of tripping across it and feeling like it was something I shouldn't be seeing will be interesting.

My first thought was that fly as well. [shudders] My second thought -- does this mean Dead at 21 will be coming next?

OMG does it have Invisible Hands by Richard Sala? Because Invisible Hands by Richard Sala is the best thing that has ever existed on television!

In middle school I sloppily played bass in a band called Winter Steele. I am so excited to see this again now that i am an adult (though still a sloppy musician).

My reaction to Æon Flux was, "This looks awesome! ...But I have no idea what's going on."

I feel like a heel because while this is awesome, I was really hoping to see everything that fell under the Liquid Television label, especially The Maxx and Celebrity Death Match. This is very, very cool. And I should appreciate it more.

this is awesome. I never replaced my VCR when it died, so my collection of Liquid Television and Beavis and Butthead tapes have just been staring at me forlornly every time I open The Drawer of Dead Media.

I will never forgive that show because the theme song had a sample of a ringing telephone that sounded EXACTLY like the phone in our basement when a pillow was on top of it. argh where is the damn thing

If they archive Turkey Television as well, that and Liquid Television will cover much of my wasted youth.

MTV releases Liquid Television to the masses

Hmm. You might have a point. 2017 - 1995 is 7 years shy of 29.

This appears to have been uploaded in 2015, so... yeah, not so much with the public domain, then or now.

ooh, this will let me put something to rest I've had in the back of my mind for years...isn't there a segment of Stick Figure Theatre that's animated on diner order pads instead of ruled notebook paper? Or is that a false memory?

Oh shit. I just saw the "Public Domain" note on the Internet Archive page and assumed that this was legit. I didn't realize anyone could upload to archive.org without it being moderated.
