This post was deleted for the following reason: eh, maybe "I didn't really vet this site, so you guys go ahead and run down the details for me" isn't really the best way to go with this. If the site is actually worthwhile and might make for a good discussion, feel free to repost with context that explains why. -- taz

Genuinely surprised the Patriots are middle-of-the-pack.

This site has been pretty well documented as being created by a NE homer. The FAQ is largely post-hoc bullshit to rationalize that.

The site exists to declare the Patriots to be middle-of-the-pack. If it came to any other conclusion, it would have different numbers or simply not exist.

For example, the site was founded in 2015 and the site's twitter account has a location of "PV=nRT,' the ideal gas law, because . The site awards zero cheatpoints to the Patriots for and one to the Colts for Deflategate. The four biggest cheats on the site are the Broncos, Jets, Colts, and Steelers, managing to get some of the Patriots' rivals in there.

It's fine to have opinions about whether various cheating scandals happened and their relative severity, but the site was setup out of spite to push an agenda.

...mighty suspicious, that! POEMGATE!

This is just to say

I have posted
the FPP
that linked to
this site

And which
you were probably
rooting for
the New England Patriots

Forgive me
The Pats never wrote poetry
The New England Poets
won five Super Hermit Trophies
Also, that is totally

As a New England Patriots fan, and after reading the Patriots' entry and one other random entry (it was the Seahawks) I have to say: yeah, this entire site was set up only to trash other teams and defend the Patriots. Not that they really NEED defending in a lot of instances, but this is way over the top (DeflateGate, on the other hand, really did happen. Everyone knows it, but it, like so many other NE "scandals", didn't actually change the outcome of any game).

Here comes the hand-wringing. I remember when the Yankees were cheating because they had an unfair budget and before that the Bulls were cheating because the refs always went their way. Then Brady and Belichick will retire and we all will remember them fondly with a minor footnote about their wranglings with the league over... what was it exactly? Seriously?

Humans are weird.

Well I can guarantee I won't remember them fondly. YMMV of course, but fondly isn't the first word that would come to mind.

Patriots blah whatever.... The real news here is FINALLY the browns are good at something!

OK, so I will be the first to admit that I didn't vet this FPP thoroughly before posting. (I rarely do!) But, aside from the "Commish's" twitter account blatantly revealing his preference for the Pats — which hey, good taste — and his defense of the Pats about "deflate-gate" (which did get more coverage than most other stories at the time, stupidly enough), what else on the site itself is revealing this pro-Pats bias to you?

I'm not doubting, just lazy — I would like to see some instances cited. Where exactly are you finding that other "N-gates" are being ignored or amplified, thus skewing the narrative so that the Pats look no worse or better than anyone else? What about instances where the Pats aren't even mentioned?

so much depends
upon

filled with deflated
footballs

beside the underpaid
ball-boys.

Interesting that the Jets are the biggest cheaters. Probably for the same reason the Patriots are merely average.

I'm oddly proud of this one:
SUMMARY: The Green Bay Packers cheated so badly in the early part of the 20th century that they had their franchise revoked in 1921 and were forced to buy their way back into the league, which founder Curly Lambeau did, by paying the $50 league entry fee in 1922.
Go Pack Go.

So the cheatriots even cheat on their cheat reporting? Typical. Shame, this could have been a good site

I was surprised that some of the bountygates were not rated as severe, honestly

(Although the saints were always totally innocent )
