Skeal is a short (about 3-5 minutes) browser game made in Unity. Sound required for the full effect.

If you have trouble getting it to run, as I did yesterday, make sure you have cookies enabled. Also note that I couldn't get sound to work in Safari, but my version of that browser isn't currently up to date.

I first learned about Skeal at Rock Paper Shotgun, where it is a Christmas tradition.

Also, keyboard.

It uses WASD to steer. I got something like 65 pleasure, 7 pain. I would've scored higher, but my thumb kept slipping down off off the A to the Z key. (I type weird by necessity.)

Totally needs sound... the audio is the point.

Goodness, I had no idea what I was in for and I loved it.
I've still got a big goofy grin on my face.

Such weird and wonderful randomness. Love it.

Trigger warning needed for anyone who had to work in retail or any commercial enterprise that played top 40 music in the mid 90s. There was loooong stretch of time where that song must have played once an hour, and listen, it's not the worst song ever, but boy oh boy is it an earworm to rule all earworms.

Now it's in my head for the next 24 hours guaranteed, THANKSALOT indie web game-maker!

This game is the first compelling case for VR I've ever played.

I thought perhaps the game would end with Seal, dressed as a Yeti, running out to eat me.
