It looks like a old/bad photoshop. I had to check for the ebaums world bug.

It’s funny because obviously this would be a firing offense at any traditional news organization, besides like a 70s alt paper covering Nixon, but if you’re not a regular Fox News viewer it’s hard to know for sure this is over their line.

Feels like the mistake was not getting a commentator to say it so they could put it in quotes?

Oh no, anyway.

I surmise there must be more inside baseball on this, because Fox spends most of its day convincing viewers that Biden is a shapeshifting demon that would attack and dethrone god single-handed were he not in cognitive decline.

@credulous Tucker loyalist I think. Hilarious to live in a world where there are such a person as a Tucker loyalist.

Eh, they'll get a good offer (for a little while, until they become boring) from the Wingnut Welfare crowd.

It really is hard for me to wrap my head around how childish supposedly grown adults can be, especially when it comes to politics.

These cowards don’t have the courage of their convictions. Or maybe they just don’t have convictions. Yet.

In April, Fox News agreed to pay $787.5 million to settle a libel case filed against the network by voting machine company Dominion Voting Systems.

Losing that amount of money will make a corporation edgy. But fascists are still fascists even after they go back to dog whistles. McCaskill wasn't fired/resigned because he did something inappropriate but because he did it in a too obvious way.

For now, at least, Fox News wants to switch to the form of lying that doesn't leave visible bruises.

Probably this lawsuit, and then McCaskill just gave them another reason.
Meanwhile, the former host and his producers, McCaskill specifically, further fell under scrutiny when they were all named in a lawsuit filed by another Tucker Carlson Tonight producer, Abby Grossberg. She claims they created a toxic environment.

Fox News answers the unasked question: "What if the Ship of Fools was also a Ship of Theseus where the rotting lumber was constantly replaced by fresh green lumber, or too often already rotten lumber, without anyone ever treating the rot?"

Yep. There's no "fair and balanced" lampshading to do there. Be fascist as hell, but keep at least a teensy bit of plausible deniability.

"Wannabe dictator" is a pretty good two-word distillation of Umberto Eco's #8, "...enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak..."
