Not the Prometheus we got, but the Prometheus we needed.

Excellent work.

I can't help but feel that the Venn overlap of those who've seen both is rather narrow.

Love that you managed to pull out a 10 year old video with 6.4k views, clav. Solid work digging deep for this one.

Oh man, I'm slightly disappointed this isn't the Matt LeBlanc Lost In Space, in which case I am *totally* owning that Venn intersection.

If you're receiving this transmission, make no attempt to come to its point of origin. There is only death here now, and I'm leaving it behind.

Another fun connection between the Lost In Space and Alien franchises: Angelica Cartwright and Veronica Cartwright are sisters.

I might have gone to see this version.

Lost in Space looks like it was a freakin' gas... I don't want to find out it wasn't, though, so that will be as far as I take this thought.

Typo in one name: it’s actually Angela Cartwright. (And maybe Verona Cartwright, I dunno.)

Oh man, I'm slightly disappointed this isn't the Matt LeBlanc Lost In Space,

A friend of mine observes that if you think of the 1998 Lost in Space as a reboot/botched franchise launch, it’s lousy. But if you think of it as a Friends side project where Joey Tribbiani follows up his triumph as Dr. Drake Remoray on the soaps with a huge Hollywood film, it increases its appeal greatly.

That's brilliant. Bonus points for bringing in the vegetable people!

I was a Star Trek kid growing up and found Lost in Space painful. Well, I decided to try it again after watching this mashup and viewed S1E1 on Prime. Gosh, that was bad. The space walk in that episode has to be the single most inept space walk in the history of space walks. And that includes the one where Alexei Leonov couldn't get back inside the airlock. Lost in Space, like all of Irwin Allen's shows, was big budget. But as a kid in the 70s it just served to remind me how stylish, cohesive, and beautifully filmed Star Trek was. (I did enjoy Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants though.)

Fun fact: Robby the Robot of Forbidden Planet fame was often a guest star on Lost in Space. Now Prometheus that, pal.

Also, Veronica Cartwright is the scream queen of the Donald Sutherland Invasion of the Body Snatchers. For what it is worth.

Literaryhero, thanks. I played this again about 2:00 a.m. and just couldn't stop laughing, I believe tears were involved by the robot in pink chaffon scarf. Squint laughing at the vegetable people, Dr. Smith as a Carrot.

I needed that and why I love this placel

I forgot, Veronica Cartwright as Betty Grissom in The Right Stuff.

I feel the need to tell AI to make a Planet of the Apes (Wahlberg) mashup with Land of the Lost.

The series takes a very sharp turn into camp that the first episodes don't represent. It's kind of like Batman/Gilligan's Island levels of kitsch. I am not gonna say it's great but they sure do pivot.

I was gonna try and make a stretch of a joke about Veronica Cartwright also having an Alien 3 / Cujo connection because in both she was menaced by a quite sick dog, but it turns out that was Dee Wallace in Cujo. Cartwright would have been great too tho.

In a just world, Bob Denver ought to be remembered for his role as Maynard G. Krebs in The Adventures of Dobie Gillis rather than that of Willie Gilligan on his eponymous surnamedly possessed island.

Actually, Veronica Cartwright died in Alien. After Harry Dean Stanton and before Yaphet Kotto.
